Belgian Sleep Medicine Course, 4th edition.
The Belgian Sleep Medicine Course (BSMC) is an initiative of the Belgian Association for Sleep research and Sleep medicine (BASS vzw-asbl). It is conceived as a postgraduate programme targeted on but not limited to MD specialists who care for patients with sleep disorders. The scope is to offer a comprehensive and contemporary review of the most relevant aspects of normal sleep, sleep physiology and pathological sleep, pertaining to the field of different medical specialties. The fourth edition of the course will run on four consecutive days, from April 18 till 21, 2007, and is organised in cooperation with members from the Dutch and the Britisch Sleep Societies. The faculty consists of expert national and foreign speakers. The BSMC is endorsed by Medical Faculties of Belgian Universities.
The BSMC has an interactive layout. In order to ensure optimal educational efficacy, admittance is limited to 40 participants. The cost for the BSMC including educational material is € 600. A discount of € 100 is offered to members of the BASS. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate and accreditation points (CME) for 25 hours. The course will be followed by a practical workshop on Saturday afternoon. The cost for the workshop also including educational material is € 100, with a € 25 discount offer for BASS members. Participants of the BSMC will have priority for attending the workshop.
The venue is the Floreal Club Blankenberge, a fine resort at the Belgian coast. Participants are invited to stay at the Floreal Hotel. Prices for a single room are € 500 for 4 nights (arriving Tuesday evening April 17 and leaving Saturday morming April 21). The cost for a double room is € 400. Breakfast is included for hotel guests, lunches and coffee breaks are included in the fee of the course. Dinner in the evening will be subject to separate registration and additional charges.
Advance payment of € 400 for the BSMC and € 50 for the workshop is requested before January 30, 2007. Please pay by bank transfer on bank account: 310-1264076-58 (IBAN: BE95 3101 2640 7658 -- BIC: BBRUBEBB). After receipt of the advance payment, registration will be final.
An examination on the contents of this course will be organised in September 2007.
